Looking Ahead to 2026
As I look toward 2026, I’m excited about the opportunities ahead to continue learning, serving, and sharing within the genealogy community.
In the coming year, I’ll be participating in ProGen 70, continuing my commitment to professional-level genealogical education. I’ll also remain actively involved in an NGSQ study group, one of my favorite
and most rewarding learning experiences—
thanks to the inspiration and leadership of Cyndi Ingle.
Service remains an important focus. I’m honored to be serving a second term on the Board of the Clark County Nevada Genealogical Society, and to have been elected in September 2025 to a two-year term as Vice President of Operations. I’ll also continue my role as Communications Manager for the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy, supporting one of the premier educational events in our field.
On the speaking front, 2026 brings an exciting addition to the Vegas Ancestor Hunter presentation portfolio:
“A Quick and Dirty Guide to Cemetery Field Research.”
In addition, the 2027 update to Looking Ahead…Your Continuing Education in Genealogy will be released beginning in October 2026.
I’m also looking forward to presenting for a number of outstanding organizations in the year ahead, including the Idaho Genealogical Society, Heritage Seekers Genealogy Club of Arkansas, San Diego Genealogical Society, Albuquerque Genealogical Society, and North Hills Genealogists. My sincere thanks to the Genealogical Speakers Guild, the Washington State Genealogical Society, and my wonderful clients for helping spread the word.
Here’s to a busy, engaging, and rewarding year of genealogy in 2026!

From ghost town cemeteries to international heritage tours, our blog, Jaunts and Junkets, features some of the places we visit on our genealogical journey. Also included are mysteries about the colorful characters we encounter along the way, tips for everything from beginner classes to death purging, and reviews of our favorite (and not so favorite) genealogy resources.
Check out the latest blog, scroll through them all, or highlight those based on your favorite genealogical question:
